Let's Go Back to the Bible

Annoying hacker!

There is a mentality among some in this world that I just do not understand.  It is reflected in those who create computer viruses, for the sole purpose of destroying files and creating chaos in the lives of computer users.  It was reflected this week when the church’s website was hacked.  And for what purpose?  Seemingly to just make life difficult for others (i.e., us!).

So, why do people do things like this?  The motivations can be as varied as the havoc they create.  Paul vividly described various facets of this mentality, in Ephesians 4, of those who are (1) walking “in the futility of their mind, (2) having their understanding darkened, (3) being alienated from the life of God, because of (4) the ignorance that is in them, because of the (5) blindness of their heart; who, (6) being past feeling, have (7) given themselves over to lewdness, to (8) work all uncleanness with (9) greediness” (4:17-19).

The lesson for Christians – Don’t walk as they walk (4:17)! Put on the new man (v. 24)!
