Let's Go Back to the Bible

You get to be a “son” of God!

There is a really neat section in the book of Galatians that presents the great blessing a Christian has in being a “son” of God.  In chapter 3, verse 26, Paul starts using the second person pronoun “you,” to make it very personal for his Christian readers.  “You are all sons of God through faith…And…heirs according to the promise” (3:26-29).  “God sent forth His Son…to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons…Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ” (4:4-7).

When “through faith” you “were baptized,” you became a son of God! “God sent forth His Son,” in order that we might “become sons” and “heirs of God.”  What a thought!

Paul’s purpose in reminding these Christians about this blessing is in verse 9:  “But now after you…are known by God, how is it that you turn back again…?”  Brothers, don’t turn back!
