Let's Go Back to the Bible

Would probation hinder your lifestyle?

A teenage girl made some poor decisions and engaged in some immoral and illegal activities.  She was young and “still had her entire life ahead of her” (as many were prone to say).  The prosecutor gave her a choice: take a deal and serve two years probation or go to court and face seven-to-ten years in prison.  She had a difficult time choosing and took a long time to respond to the attorney, because she really didn’t want to be limited in what she could do under probation.  She was more inclined to continue her pre-arrest lifestyle than to clean herself up.

Not that you will be faced with this same decision, but would living under probation be a real hindrance to your life choices?  I’m not talking about traveling out of the state or notifying the court of employment changes.  But, if the terms of a probation prohibited you from committing any further violations of law, using any non-prescribed substance or consuming alcohol, would that put a kink in your lifestyle?  Living a lawful and moral life is not a limitation for a Christian–it is a privilege from God and blessing to everyone in our lives.  It is the best life!
