Let's Go Back to the Bible

When will God get rid of the clutter?

Have you ever (1) been cleaning out your closet, your garage, your desk, your office or your kid’s room, (2) found something that was once so wonderful, so neat, so gotta-have, so life-changing, so new, so clean, and (3) just tossed it in the big black garbage bag along with the other junk?  What happened?  How and why had this gone from treasure to trash?

We don’t think about that much when doing our spring cleaning.  We just want to get everything looking better, cleaned out and less cluttered.

At one time, you and I were new, clean and wonderful, but then through the deceitfulness of sin we became a cluttered mess.  One day the Lord “will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor” (Matt. 3:12).  So, why hasn’t He already done that?  Why is He leaving the mess and clutter that we are and that we’ve made?  He “is longsuffering…not willing that any should perish” (2 Pet. 3:9)!  Aren’t you glad!  Are you ready for God’s “spring cleaning”?
