There was a report on one of the cable news networks over the weekend entitled, “What is the best way to prevent DUI’s?” The discussion centered around the concept of placing ignition interlocks in cars which can only be released by means of a passing breathalyzer-type test. While I know this may not be an apples-to-apples comparison, the report reminded me of the controversy years ago over passing out condoms in schools—the reasoning behind it was to prevent unwanted pregnancies and the transfer of STD’s. “How can we prevent teen pregnancies?” Pass out condoms. “How can we prevent DUI’s?” Lock the ignitions.
To all of my fellow Christians – do you know THE BEST way to prevent DUI’s? Don’t drink! Do you know THE BEST way to prevent unwed pregnancies? Don’t have unwed sex! Brethren, this is not rocket science! Abstinence ALWAYS works! (Whether we’re talking about drinking, sex, gambling, drugs, etc., it always works!) God’s way is THE BEST way! Or, to state it even better – God’s way is THE ONLY way! Believe it. Live it. Teach it.
