Let's Go Back to the Bible

What if you could eat all you want?

Many of us try to “watch what we eat” (at least from the plate onto the fork and into our mouths).  Watching what you eat usually involves some kind of diet that limits your calorie intake, limits your portions, etc.  And, nobody likes to limit themselves when it comes to food.  That’s no fun!

So, what if you could eat all you want and it would not adversely affect you a bit?  In fact, what if the more you ate, the more often you ate and the larger the portions you ate actually served to enhance your health, your stamina and your overall satisfaction with yourself?  How would that sound?  Would you be interested in a “diet” like that?  An “all-you-can-eat, good-for-you diet”?

This is not some new kind of diet; in fact, it’s the oldest one around.  Jeremiah said, “Your words were found, and I ate them…” (Jer. 15:16).  God’s words are like food (cf. Heb. 5:12) and are “sweeter than honey and the honeycomb” (Psa. 19:10).  Question:  Have you “tasted that the Lord is gracious” (1 Pet. 2:3)?  How’s your spiritual diet?  You can eat all you want!
