Let's Go Back to the Bible

“The Lord is on my side”

In rough economic times, it is so difficult to focus on anything but the rough economic times.  When jobs are scarce and money is “scarcer,” it is extremely difficult to focus on anything but the scarcity of places hiring and money to pay the bills.  If this describes you, take a moment to reflect on the side of life that doesn’t focus solely on the physical or financial aspects of life.

Read it slow.  Concentrate on each word.  “The…Lord…is…my…shepherd; …I…shall…not …want. …He…makes…me…to…lie…down…in…green…pastures; …He…leads…me…beside…the…still…waters. …He…restores…my soul; …He…leads…me …in …the…paths…of… righteousness…For…His…name’s…sake.” Ok, you read it already?  That was fast.  Read those words one more time.  Emphasize each word as you read it.

Don’t ever let the world or outside circumstances get you down.  Let us learn to say (and practice saying), “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear!” (Heb. 13:6; cf. Psa. 118:6).
