Let's Go Back to the Bible

Not quite right, but not quite wrong!

In last night’s sermon, I made up a statistic that I figured was pretty close and was trying to illustrate a point.  (By the way, have you read that 79% of statistics are made up on the spot?)  For those who were not there, I admitted during the lesson that I was making it up (because I wanted to be honest, and I thought it was actually kind of funny).  The statistic I manufactured was that South Florida has the greatest saturation of Jews in the nation.  I was shown on an iPhone after worship that we are actually #3 in the nation.  So, my statistic was not quite right.

But, the point was not quite wrong!  When we usually think about evangelism, we think about teaching those who have never heard the gospel before and/or teaching those who have been misled by human doctrine and tradition.  But, we may rarely think about reaching out and speaking to Jews about Christ.  Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, stated, “No one comes to the Father but by Me.”  Jews do not believe that.  Our Lord told us to preach the good news about Him to every creature, which would include our Jewish neighbors. Now, that’s right!
