In times of despair and uncertainty, the Psalms offer tremendous comfort and hope. David had immense confidence in the Lord—for himself and for all the Lord’s faithful. Meditate on these assurances from Psalm 20:
“May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
May He send you help…and strengthen you…;
May He remember all your offerings…
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose…
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.”
In the heart of this psalm is this confidence – “Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.”
