I realize that one of ladies’ least favorite matters to discuss is the subject of modest apparel, but that does not negate or diminish the emphasis that God gives to the matter in Scripture–“I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly” (1 Tim. 2:9). To come at it from another angle, God says, “So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way” (Rom. 14:12-13).
Ladies, let me tell you where guys are coming from in this matter. If your blouse is cut low, guys are gonna look. If your shirt rises up, guys are gonna look. If your top highlights your breasts, guys are gonna look. If your skirt is short, guys are gonna look. If your pants are tight, guys are gonna look. If your shorts are skimpy, guys are gonna look. If there are words across your rump, guys are gonna look. Rule #1 for guys — control your eyes and desires. Rule #1 for girls — don’t put a stumbling block in the way. Both actions are sinful and can lead to more sin. Think about it.
