Let's Go Back to the Bible

“It’s not fair! They get to do whatever they want!”

Sometimes Christians look at their non-Christian, worldly friends and wonder, “Why do they get to do whatever they want…and I don’t?”  That is dangerous territory in which to let the mind wander.  Think about these passages.  “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the wicked; for there will be no prospect for the evil man” (Prov. 24:19-20).  “Do not let your heart envy sinners, but be zealous for the fear of the Lord all the day; for surely there is a hereafter, and your hope will not be cut off” (Prov. 23:17-18).  “Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.  Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.  Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart” (Psa. 37:1-4).

Go back and read those passages again; they’re so rich!  You don’t want to be like the wicked!  There is no prospect for them!  There is a hereafter!  And they shall be cut off!  Serve the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart!  Our God will take care of us!
