Let's Go Back to the Bible

Guaranteed way to have a great day!

While helping others, serving others and going out of our way to do good unto others may sometimes be viewed as a nuisance, a hindrance, an inconvenience or an aversion, it actually can be quite rewarding. (In fact, doing good unto others is actually a reward unto itself.) When was the last time–without being asked, prodded, “guilted” or required–that you went out of your way to do a kind deed toward another (especially a brother or sister  in Christ) without any expectation or desire for any favor in return?

Jesus said, “If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? …Do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great” (Luke 6:34-35). When Paul considered all that he had given up, was giving up and would give up for the good of his brethren, he concluded, “Yes, and if I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all” (Phil. 2:17).
