Let's Go Back to the Bible

Do you know God? Your works will answer!

It is easy for one to profess to know God, and thus easy for one to profess that they are following God.  But, how can we know if one is truly following God and is truly accepted by God.  Titus 1:16 is an interesting verse in this regard; think about these words carefully.  “They profess to know God [yes, we know people like that today, who profess they know God, love God and follow God], but in works they deny Him [whoa, seriously, so they don’t really “know God”?], being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.”

There is a difference between professing to know God (cf. “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord’…”) and acceptably obeying God through one’s works (cf. “…and do not do the things which I say?” Luke 6:46).  Jesus illustrated this in the parable of the builders.  Both builders heard Jesus’ words, but only one builder (the wise builder) did what He said (Matt. 7:24-27).

Do you know God?  Your lips can give an answer, but your works will tell the truth!
