Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Joy in the fellowship of God”

Bible translators have given this as the “title” to Psalm 63—“Joy in the Fellowship of God.”  Read the psalm for yourself.  The translators didn’t do too bad naming this one.

David says, “My soul thirsts for You…My soul shall be satisfiedMy soul follows close behind You…”  Why does his soul do this?  “Because Your lovingkindness is better than life…Because You have been my help…”  Look at how David stands in awe of God and of His majesty—“Your power…Your glory…Your lovingkindness…Your name…Your wings…Your right hand…”  So, what does a man after God’s own heart do in this kind of relationship with God?  “I will seek You…I have looked for You…I will bless You…I will lift up my hands…I remember You…I meditate on You…I will rejoice…”

Read this psalm through several times.  In just 11 verses, the person pronouns “I,” “My,” “You” and “Your” are used 37 times.  Do you share this kind of joy in the fellowship of God?
