Let's Go Back to the Bible

Confidence in prayer

When you pray, how much confidence do you have that (1) you are heard and (2) you will be answered? As Christians, we might wonder (or even doubt) sometimes if God is listening and if  God is going to respond. However, we have been given every confidence that He does both!

Memorize these words: “Now this is the confidence that we have (present tense, continuous) in Him, that if we ask (present tense) anything according to His will, He hears (present tense) us. And if we know that He hears (present tense) us, whatever we ask (present tense), we know that we have (present tense) the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14-15)

As long as we keep on asking, He keeps on hearing! As long as He keeps on hearing, we keep on having! Do you have that confidence? You have to ask “according to His will”! Martha knew that whatever Jesus would “ask of God” that “God will give” (John 11:22). Do you have that same confidence as you pray through His name? Think deeply about this!
