Let's Go Back to the Bible

You did not, so be careful you do not

While addressing the children of Israel before they took possession of the Promised Land, Moses pleaded with them to not forget the Lord who brought them out of Egypt.  He foretold of the land into which the Lord would bring them—“to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, houses…which you did not fill, …wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant” (Deut. 6:10-11).  What had they done to receive these things from the Lord?  Well…nothing.

Then this warning from Moses—“Beware, lest you forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage” (Deut. 6:12).

When the Lord does so much for us, for which we do not deserve any of it, sometimes we just grow accustomed to His blessings and take them for granted.  God says to us, “Be careful that you do not forget the Lord!” Verse 13 says, “Fear the LORD your God and serve Him.”
