Let's Go Back to the Bible

What does “All to us” look like?

Jesus taught that we are to “love the Lord” with “all” of our heart, soul, strength and mind (Luke 10:27). What does that look like? Paul said that, to those who have “put on the new man,” Christ is “all and in all” (Col. 3:10-11). What does that look like?

There are many ways to answer that question, but Chris Tomlin summarized it well in his hymn, “All to Us.” Here are three things that those who “believe” that Jesus is “all to us” need to affirm: “Let the glory of Your name be the passion of the church.” Sounds like Ephesians 3:21. “Let the righteousness of God be a holy flame that burns.” Sounds like Philippians 3:9-11. “Let the saving love of Christ be the measure of our lives.” Sounds like 2 Corinthians 5:14.

Can YOU truly say that Jesus is “all” to you? What is your passion? Is it to glorify His name? What burns within you? Is it a yearning to do and teach what is right? What means the most to you? Is it the saving love of Christ? Christ must be our “all”! Is He yours?
