Let's Go Back to the Bible

What are you?

Context is everything, right? How would you answer the question, “What are you?” It all depends, doesn’t it? Depending on the situation, you might answer that you are a man or a woman. A northerner or a southerner. A Democrat or a Republican. An omnivore or a vegetarian. An SEC fan or Big Ten fan. Some of these categories of identification find strong, loyal advocates—to the point that such identification may be all that people know of a person.

What are you? Do people know that you are a Christian? This is not asking if people know you go to church. Do people know that you are a strong, loyal Christian? Is there anyone who may not know much about you, but they know, for sure, that you are an active, enthusiastic Christian?

Certain things that may identify us in this life don’t really matter in the long run, do they? But whether people know of your absolute, unwavering, life-centered devotion to Christ does (Matt. 5:16; 1 Pet. 2:11-12; John 13:34-35)! So, what are you? Do people know it?
