Let's Go Back to the Bible

Ugh, who’s in charge around here?

Mighty king Nebuchadnezzar learned a mighty lesson in Daniel 4.  He told of his dream, in which a watcher came from heaven and said, “Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, Strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit…Let it be wet with the dew of heaven, And let him graze with the beasts On the grass of the earth.  Let his heart be changed from that of a man, Let him be given the heart of a beast” (4:14-16).  Daniel interpreted and told the king, “It is you” (4:22).

In his dream, the watcher told Nebuchadnezzar this would happen, “In order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will” (4:17).  “The Most High” is found six times in this chapter, and the word “rules” is found four times.  The king dreamed it (4:17), Daniel interpreted it (4:25) and the king came to know that the Most High is in control of the kingdoms/nations of men and rules over them.

We would do well to learn this same lesson, without the whole becoming a beast part!
