Each day is filled with unexpected events — an emergency trip out of town, the death of a loved one, a hard drive crashing, an ink pen leaking in a shirt pocket, the Bengals thrashing the Bears, a flat tire on the way to work, an extra project assigned to you, etc., etc. Each day when we wake, there are those activities of the day that are planned and certain things we expect to happen. Nevertheless, one thing we always expect is that something unexpected will happen.
At the end of a day of unexpected happenings, at the end of a week of unexpected adventures, at the end of a season of unexpected predicaments, at the end of a year of unexpected events, at the end of a lifetime of unexpected experiences, answer these questions: Is God still on the throne? Is Jesus still your Savior? Is Christ still your Lord? Is the Bible still your trusted guide? Is heaven still your goal? Are you still a faithful Christian?
That’s all that matters!
