The Lord bless you and keep you! God is the source of all blessings (cf. Jas. 1:17), including all the material blessings that we enjoy in this life! But His blessings go beyond “things”; He guards us and protects us, as a loving Father for His children. Amazing!
The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! How wonderful the thought that we can find delight and favor from the Creator of this universe! Can your imagination conjure up the image of God’s face shining happily upon you? Wow!
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace! Scripture talks about God hiding His face in disapproval and anger. How marvelous the notion that God’s face can not only be turned toward us and shine upon us, but it can be lifted up in our direction, an indication of divine recognition, approval and acceptance of our lives of service. What peace!
