Let's Go Back to the Bible

Postal regulations vs. God’s regulations

The United States Post Office never ceases to amaze me.  We deal with them frequently for our bulk mailings, and it seems like there is always something that’s not exactly right.  The rules they have are so rigid and confusing—trying to keep up with 3-digit vs. 5-digit, letters vs. flats, rubberbands vs. no rubberbands, etc., etc.  Then, if it wasn’t rigid and confusing enough, they periodically change rates and regulations, which sometimes requires figuring out a new system.

Aren’t you glad that being a Christian is not regulated or supervised by the USPS!  While God certainly has “rules” (cf. Gal. 6:16; Phil. 3:16; 2 Tim. 2:5), they are not confusing!  Certain men might try to make them confusing, but God made them understandable (cf. Eph. 5:17), if we want to understand them (cf. John 7:17; 2 Thess. 2:10).  And, He doesn’t change them!  We can learn His will and know it is settled (cf. Psa. 119:89; Jude 3; 2 Tim. 3:17; 2 Pet. 1:3).

More postal rate changes are coming next month, but God’s will remains the same!
