The death of big-time celebrities always grabs the headlines and grabs our attention, especially if the person was iconic in his/her field, a gifted entertainer and well-known by all ages. When this happens, we should be reminded of some important matters.
We should be reminded that we ourselves will die one day, as that is appointed unto all (Heb. 9:27). We should be reminded that people (of “lesser notoriety”) are dying around us e
very day. We should be reminded that souls are leaving this earth every day and going to their eternal abode. We should be reminded that once a person dies, his/her eternal destiny cannot be changed. We should be reminded that it is our responsibility, as children of God, to teach the gospel to every person on this earth (celebrity and non-celebrity alike). We should be reminded that our true heroes need to be Christians who are living faithful lives. We should be reminded that as death is appointed for each one, so is the final judgment before the King Himself.
