Let's Go Back to the Bible

The days are evil

There are many folks who think that life on this earth is the best thing there is, so they want to “stay” here as long as they can and “get” as much as they can.  Interestingly, the Lord warns us that “the days are evil” (Eph. 5:16).  The wise Solomon admonished, “Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come” (Ecc. 12:1).

Life is full of trouble and temptations that seek to occupy our time and lead us astray from walking with the Lord and doing His will.  That is why Paul instructs Christians to (1) “walk circumspectly” (5:15)—looking carefully at how you’re living your life and the dangers lurking to sidetrack you.  (2) “Redeem the time” (5:16)—buy up every moment you have and make the most of every minute for what really matters.  (3) “Understand what the will of the Lord is” (5:17)—make that your top priority.

How are you using your days, especially Monday through Saturday?  Is evil winning?  Or is God?
