Let's Go Back to the Bible

Got your praying?

How often have you heard lessons on the armor of God detailed in Ephesians 6? How often have you seen illustrations with arrows pointing to and identifying each piece of armor? There are six pieces, right? Actually, if you stop reading with the sword of the Spirit (the sixth piece) in verse 17, you’ve missed a most potent weapon available to the soldier of Christ.

Verse 18 continues with the armor of God and the very first word in the verse is “praying.” How often have we neglected this piece of our armor—a most powerful weapon in our arsenal? The Lord tells us to put this piece on “ALWAYS.” He tells us to be praying always “with ALL prayer and supplication.” Do you realize how many different opportunities we have to pray? He tells us to be “watchful with ALL perseverance and supplication for ALL the saints.”

As Christians, we are at war “against the wiles of the devil” (6:11). Every piece of armor is essential! Do not neglect to talk to God always, every day about every thing! Prayer will strengthen you, calm you and protect you!
