Let's Go Back to the Bible

The Bible (Remix)

In the music world, there is frequently the release of a remix.  A remix is “an alternative version of a song, made from an original version.”  So, there is the original song that came out years ago, then someone comes along, changes it up a bit and releases it as a “remix.”  The remix is like the first song, and it might bear some resemblance, but it is not the first song.

In the religious world, there have been attempts to release a “remix” of the Bible.  Sometimes they’ve been called “Another Testament of Jesus Christ,” where a completely different message is equated with the original.  Other times they’ve been called, “New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures,” where a perverted alteration is released to take the place of the original.

Here is what we need to remember.  The “original version” (inspired in its every word) affirmed that it was “once for all delivered” (Jude 3), thoroughly equipping the man of God (2 Tim. 3:17) with all he needs for life and godliness (2 Pet. 1:3).  No remix necessary…ever!
