Let's Go Back to the Bible

Something to know about your ancestry

Family trees. Have you ever checked to see who you’re connected to? That used to be a lot harder of a task than it is these days. With the internet, all sorts of connections can be found now. Have you ever done an ancestry search that requires you to send off a blood sample to test your DNA? Guess what I found.

I’ve done some digging into YOUR ancestry and I wanted to let you know something. You and I are related. It’s true! But, it gets even weirder. You’re related to your neighbor…and to my neighbor…and to that mean kid in the third grade…and to the cashier at the grocery store.

The Bible says that God “made from one blood (literally, ‘from one’) every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth” (Acts 17:26). He started with one and now there are billions. Trace your ancestry back and…we are ALL related—ALL of us! “The whole earth was populated” from one family (Gen. 9:19). So, let’s start treating each other like it’s a big, happy family reunion!
