Let's Go Back to the Bible

Satan can’t love like you can!

The Bible says that Satan is a crafty, subtle and cunning being, who can transform “himself into an angel of light” (2 Cor. 11:3, 14; cf. Gen. 3:1).  So, it should be “no wonder” that his “deceitful workers” and “ministers” are able to transform themselves, as well, “into ministers of righteousness” (2 Cor. 11:13-15).  They can do things that make them look righteous.

However, while they might be able to do certain works, say certain things or act a certain way (in order to deceive observers into believing they are something that they actually are not), there is something that is entirely unique to the Christian and cannot be fabricated, duplicated or imitated.  “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).  Satan cannot fake agape love.  His deceitful workers cannot feign agape love.

Unconditional, unselfish love is uniquely suited for the disciple of Christ who “esteems others better than himself” (Phil. 2:3-4).  Agape love takes effort, but it is uniquely Christian!
