Let's Go Back to the Bible

“He’s a different guy at church!”

A non-Christian visited the local Church of Christ and was surprised to see a coworker there also. The non-Christian was so intrigued by the church and was so encouraged by the worship that she continued to visit for several weeks. She was even more surprised to learn that this coworker, who she saw in the worship during her first visit, was not only a member of that church but was a “prominent” member in her estimation. She saw this man used in various capacities to lead the public assemblies. Over a few weeks, she grew concerned and confused, as she went to work Monday through Friday and saw “one man,” then went to the church on Sunday and saw “a different man.” Friends at work learned she was going to the same church as this unpleasant coworker. Acquaintances at church began to find out that she worked with this wonderful man. She was confused; she was concerned; she didn’t know what to think.

While this story is fictitious, it surely bears similarities to many real situations today. So, which “person” do people see when they look at you? Are you a “different person” depending on where you are and who is looking at you?
