Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Happy are the people who…”

Ok, so how would you finish this sentence, “Happy are the people who _____”?  Now, how would your neighbor finish it?  If you asked someone at work, how would they finish it?  Of the hundreds of friends you have on Facebook, how would they finish it?  Take the sentence down to the casino, how would they finish it?  How would a man walking out of an adult entertainment building finish it?  Suppose you asked a classroom full of children, how would they finish it?

So, how many different ways do you believe you could find to finish that sentence? Now, go ask King David in the Old Testament how he would finish it.  David cried out to the Lord and said, “Rescue me and deliver me…”  Lord, I want to be rescued!  Lord, I want to be delivered!  Please! But, why David?  Why is that so urgently important to you?  Look at what he says!

“Happy are the people who are in such a state; Happy are the people whose God is the Lord!” (Psa. 144:11, 15). There’s only one way (only one!) to finish the sentence!
