Let's Go Back to the Bible

Looking for youth ministers

For more than 50 years, the question has been raised as to whether it is proper for the church to hire full-time “Youth Ministers.” This article is not about that question.

For nearly 2,000 years, the church has desperately needed more and more “youth ministers.” Please notice the difference in spelling between the first and second paragraphs.

The responsibility of Christians is to “minister to the saints” (Heb. 6:10), which emphasizes actively serving individuals in a local congregation. Question: Would this include ministering to the young people in the church? If not, why not? If it does include them, is this responsibility (of ministering to youth) limited to those with the capitalized title, “Youth Minister”? Answer: No!

Every Christian is a “widow minister,” a “new convert minister” and, yes, a “youth minister.” Today, the church desperately needs more “youth ministers”! Will you accept that responsibility and make a difference (an eternal difference!) in the lives of our precious young people?
