The book of John teaches us much about the knowledge of Jesus. He was more than just “a man”! He was truly God in the flesh! And the depth and expanse of His knowledge not only proves His deity but also His amazing love.
Jesus “knew all people” and “knew what was in man” (John 2:24-25). Jesus “knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him” (6:64). Jesus “knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world…He knew who would betray Him” (13:1, 3, 11). Jesus “knew that they desired to ask Him” (16:19). Jesus knew “all things that would come upon Him” (18:4). Jesus knew “that all things were now accomplished” (19:28).
How would you like to know every man’s hateful thoughts toward you? What would you do if you did? Jesus knew man, He knew their hearts and He knew the vicious death and separation that awaited Him. Still, He came, He stayed, He loved, He died, He “finished” His task. Thanks be to God!
