Let's Go Back to the Bible

It’s a boy!

Lindsey (Jenkins) McPherson found out last week that Gary and Jacqui’s first grandchild is going to be a boy!  (Don’t worry!  They have received the message that “David” is the most suitable name for him!)  Technology is such a marvel today!  Isn’t it amazing how much we can know before a child’s birth that folks in Bible times could not!  (Or, can we?)

Hagar was told, “You shall bear a son” (Gen. 16:11).  Abraham was told, “Sarah your wife shall have a son” (Gen. 18:10).  Manoah’s wife was told, “You shall conceive and bear a son” (Judg. 13:3).  David was told, “A son shall be born to you” (1 Chr. 22:9).  The Shunammite woman was told, “About this time next year you shall embrace a son” (2 Kgs. 4:16).  Zacharias was told, “Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son” (Lk. 1:13).  Mary was told, “You will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son” (Lk. 1:31).  Joseph was told, “She will bring forth a Son” (Mt. 1:21).

I guess they had something better than technology and ultrasounds back then – it was God! May we never let our technology (or anything else for that matter) keep us from Him!
