Let's Go Back to the Bible

“I need to work on my attitude!”

These are frustrating times! Our lives have been turned inside out and upside down, in some respects. People on television and the internet seem bent on stirring us up to fear inside and angry hatred on the outside. Perhaps you have noticed a change in your attitude. Are you less joyful? Less optimistic? Less pleasant to be around? Are you more irritable? More easily frustrated? More susceptible to lose your temper at the slightest (even inconsequential) thing?

It is likely that all of us can say, “I need to work on my attitude!” What can we do? First, control what influences we allow into our hearts from the outside (Mark 7:21-23). We need to do a better job of “turning it off.” Second, we need to spend more time in the Word and less time in front of a screen (2 Tim. 2:15; Psa. 1:2). Third, we need to talk to our Father about what’s going on, be open with Him, and plead with Him to help us (Phil. 4:6-7; Psa. 34:4).

I cannot fix my attitude without God’s help! And, for sure, my attitude needs some fixing!
