Let's Go Back to the Bible

How to survive a terrible, horrible, bad day

We’ve all been there. Some more recently than others. Some more severe than others. We wonder—“Why me?” Why now?” How can I get through this?” Many answers could be offered, but let me focus on three.

ONE: Rejoice! “What? No way!”  Read 1 Thessalonians 5:16 and James 1:2-4. (Go ahead. Read. I’ll wait.) Find three positive things over which to rejoice right now. They are there! Or stretch yourself to ten. There are at least that many. Give it a try. TWO: Pray! “Oh, sure! I knew you’d say that!” Read 1 Thessalonians 5:17 and Philippians 4:6. Talk to THE ONE who cares and who can! Know that He hears you! Trust that He answers you! THREE: Give thanks! “Now you’ve gone mad!” Read 1 Thessalonians 5:18 and Ephesians 5:20. Thank God for being with you and walking with you through each challenge! He has, He does, He will!
