Let's Go Back to the Bible

Got anything memorized?

There are many things that I memorized in elementary school, middle school, high school and college for exams that I no longer remember.  At one time they were locked in (at least for a few minutes before the test), but now they’re gone.  However, there are other things that stick.

Do you know how many inches are in a foot?  Do you know the first U.S. President?  Do you have your spouse’s email address or your doctor’s phone number memorized?  Do you have your favorite TV show’s channel and time memorized?  These kinds of things are “automatics”!  But why are some things easier or more “automatic” to memorize and others are not?  It has to do with (1) frequency of use and (2) fervency of desire to know it and remember it.

Now, do you have any Bible verses, locations, teachings, etc. memorized?  We have so many other things memorized in life; what about the Bible?  How can I make it easier to memorize the Bible?  It has to do with (1) frequency of use and (2) fervency of desire.  Think about it.
