Let's Go Back to the Bible

Good decision-making requires good eyesight!

How far into the future can you “see”? How far down the road of life can you “see”? How far past the present and along the chain of consequences can you “see”? Your vision into the days ahead will have a direct impact on your decisions today! What does that mean?

If a girl could foresee the distress of being an unwed teenage mother, wouldn’t that impact her decision to have premarital sex? If a person could foresee the lifelong animosity that he would endure, wouldn’t that impact his decision to speak his mind on that one occasion? If a church leader could foresee the faith-devastating effect of a youth activity that seemed innocent enough at the time, wouldn’t that impact his decision to go through with his plans for that event? If King David could have foreseen the pain and anguish that he would experience and cause others to experience at his hands, wouldn’t that impact his decision to call Bathsheba to his side?

A good decision-maker looks beyond the immediate and tries his best to see how his choices will impact others and especially how they will impact others eternally! How’s your vision?
