Let's Go Back to the Bible

God’s employees

Go into any business and I suppose there are employees working for God and there are employees working for the devil.  Now, “God” and “the devil” are not used here to characterize the employer; for this article the employer is inconsequential.  I’m talking about whether the employees in a particular company work as a representative of God or work as a representative of the devil.  In Ephesians 6, Paul indicates how an employee of God can be identified.

“…Be obedient to those who are your [employers]…in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord…” (Eph. 6:5-9).

If you are in a position where you work for someone else, these are God’s expectations of you as a Christian employee, remembering that, in the big picture, you are working for God!
