Let's Go Back to the Bible

God “is with you”!

Think about how often this phrase is uttered in the Bible.  Abimelech told Abraham, “God is with you in all that you do” (Gen. 21:22).  Again, it was said to Isaac, “We have certainly seen that the LORD is with you” (Gen. 26:28).  Israel was told that in battle “the Lord your God is with you” (Deut. 20:1; 2 Chron. 20:17).  The Lord told Joshua, “The Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Josh 1:9).  Gideon was told, “The Lord is with you” (Judg. 6:12).  King Saul was told, “God is with you” (1 Sam. 10:7).  Mary was told, “The Lord is with you” (Luke 1:28).  (And, this does not even include the 14 times God directly said, “I am with you.”)

Consider these very important and conditional words delivered to one of the few faithful kings of Judah – “The Lord is with you while you are with Him.  If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you” (2 Chron. 15:2).  Think about that – the Lord is with you while you are with Him! If God is not with you right now, who can change that?
