Let's Go Back to the Bible

Do you “still hold fast to worn arguments”?

The President of the United States held a reception at the White House on Monday to honor the first ever Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (which he issued by Presidential Proclamation on June 1st).  The president told the crowd of homosexuals, “There are unjust laws to overturn and unfair practices to stop.  And though we’ve made progress, there are still fellow citizens – perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones – who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes, who fail to see your families like their families…For we know that progress depends not only on changing laws but also changing hearts.”

Did you catch it?  Opposing homosexuality by appealing to Scripture (Bible passages including Genesis 18:16-19:29; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; 2 Peter 2:6-8; Jude 7) is “hold[ing] fast to worn arguments and old attitudes.”

Brethren, the President may be successful in changing our national laws, but no one can change God’s laws! May we ever hold fast to God’s arguments, which never wear out!
