Let's Go Back to the Bible

Costly mistakes

Have you ever made a mistake (a genuine mistake) that cost you dearly?  Perhaps, although you were trying to be careful, you entered a number incorrectly on your taxes and you got audited.  Perhaps, without thinking, you rolled through a stop sign, without coming to a complete stop, and got slapped with a fine.  Perhaps you inadvertently clicked on the wrong item during an online order and, without noticing, placed an order for an item you didn’t want or need.

Honest mistakes, one could say.  But, costly mistakes!  Some mistakes can cost you hundreds of dollars.  Some mistakes can cost you valuable time.  Some mistakes can cost you friendships or trust.  While all of these can be devastating, nothing compares to high costs of unrepentant sins.  “Eternal punishment” (Matt. 25:46), “death” (Rom. 6:23), “everlasting destruction away from the presence of the Lord” (2 Thess. 1:8-9) await those who choose to live a life of sin.  Some mistakes in life can cost you big-time now.  Yet, other mistakes (sinful living) can cost you eternal-time in the hereafter.  Think about it.
