Let's Go Back to the Bible

Be not dismayed!

These may be the very words that you need to hear today. It may be that you didn’t sleep well last night, or maybe not at all. Have there been some circumstances, health issues or relationships that have deteriorated so drastically in recent days that your heart is aching, your mind is numb, and you feel like you don’t know what to do?

Read this slowly. Read every word and pause as you do. “Be. Not. Dismayed. Whate’er. Betide. God. Will. Take. Care. Of. You. Beneath. His. Wings. Of. Love. Abide. God. Will. Take. Care. Of. You. Lean. Weary. One. Upon. His. Breast. God. Will. Take. Care. Of. You. Through. Every. Day. O’er. All. The. Way. He. Will. Take. Care. Of. You.”

Civilla D. Martin wrote those words in poetic form just over 100 years ago (in 1904). But, Isaiah wrote these inspired words over 2,700 years ago: “Behold, the Lord God shall come with a strong hand…He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom” (Isa. 40:10-11). He is “with you” (41:10). He will “help you” (41:13). He “cares for you” (1 Pet. 5:7).
