Let's Go Back to the Bible

“America the Beautiful” or “Heaven the Beautiful”?

If you believe in the sovereignty of God, you know that “the Most High rules in the kingdom of men” (Dan. 4:17, 25, 32; 5:21). If you believe in the sovereignty of God, you know that God not only “raises up kings,” but He also “removes kings” (Dan. 2:21). If you believe in the sovereignty of God, you know how often nations fell throughout the Old Testament because their iniquity rose to a level punishable by God, even when it was His own people.

When we look around today, some question “how long America can stand” when it is turning so decisively away from righteousness and into the depths of dark immorality and sin. No doubt, this nation will one day fall. But, our hope and our focus do not need to be in “our nation.”

There is a citizenship in heaven much more important than this earth (Phil. 3:20). There is a purpose for which we have been created—to glorify God and help to save lost souls (Isa. 43:7; John 15:1-16). Let’s make sure that our “faith and hope are in God” and not something earthbound (1 Pet. 1:21).
