Let's Go Back to the Bible

A sin practicer or a sin evader?

Here’s something to think about.  If the Bible says that…no fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, thieves, covetous, drunkards, unclean, haters, arguers, self-seekers or liars are going to be in heaven (1 Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 5:19-21; Rev. 21:8)…then there isn’t going to be anybody in heaven!  Is there?  If none of these people or “the like” (Gal. 5:21) are going to make it to heaven, how is anybody ever going to make it to heaven?

The key is found in one word.  In Galatians 5:21, God says that those who “PRACTICE such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”  In the listing of these sins in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Paul said to those Christians, “And such WERE some of you.”  The key is that, in the eyes of God, that person is no longer considered one of these types of sinners.  How can that happen?

God said, “But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus…” (1 Cor. 6:11).  Being a Christian changes everything!
