Let's Go Back to the Bible

Tuesday Morning Class

Our Tuesday morning Bible class has evidently met a need in the lives of many here at Palm Beach Lakes. We had no idea about the level of interest or how many would attend, but it really seems to fulfill a need.

We owe a debt to Mike Archer as the driving force to help make the class a reality. He made many phone calls before the class started to measure the level of interest and still is doing all he can to let others know about it. There were 18 present at the first meeting and every week there has been a noticeable increase in number.

The design of the class is to have each class as a “stand alone” class. In this way those who cannot attend every week actually will not get behind. We simply take a topic and focus our interest for that particular class to that topic. We start at 10:30 and stop promptly at 11:30, so that those who come can make definite plans about the rest of their day. So if you have a Tuesday morning free, just show up and become part of a great period of Bible study.

Another aspect of the class is that those who attend decide what will be studied. This tends to insure that the topic will be of great interest. Several interesting Bible questions and topics have already been suggested for future study and those topics too will have wide appeal.

The class is also being used as a way to reach out to the community. At every meeting we have had those attend who are not members of the church. Thanks to those who have invited others. It truly is a non-threatening way to introduce others to the church and allow them to be part of different way of studying the Bible. So if you have been wondering how to interest a friend in the church, this may be the perfect method.

The past few weeks have been particularly exciting. The announcement of our special association with Chris Fry and his work in Paraguay has created even more interest in mission work. Then there is the outstanding success of “The Silencing of God” Seminar. It touched the lives of many in our area and we are so encouraged by the interest this generated. Even more encouraging is the growth we are seeing in the several baptisms we have had.

So let me encourage you to become even more involved—whether it’s the Tuesday class or some other area.  There are great joys that await you!
