Let's Go Back to the Bible

Take responsibility

R-E-S-P-O-N-S-I-B-I-L-I-T-Y is a four-letter word today. Well, not really, but it sure seems that way sometimes. Our society is coddling certain segments of people or special interest groups and guarding them from being responsible for anything that they do. So, if some people mess up, they would never assume (or have to assume) responsibility for it. In another way, some parents are raising their children today to be lazy, entitled slackers, who do not know what it is to be a contributing member of society, who takes responsibility for assignments, work, tasks, appointments, etc. So, if they don’t fulfill their roles and expectations set for them, so be it.

Fellow Christian, God created us to be workers (2 Thess. 3:10). He created us to be hard workers (Ecc. 9:10). He created us to be contributing members of our society (Gal. 6:10). He created us to “do” (Luke 6:31) and not to be “lazy” (Matt. 25:26). He created us to be honest in all that we do (Col. 3:9). Brethren, please take responsibility and teach such to others!
