Let's Go Back to the Bible

Download speed is always faster than upload speed!

For those who have ever tried to send information or upload files via the internet, you know that it is much faster to download and receive than it is to upload and send.  For example, a speed test that I just ran on my internet connection showed download 4-5 times faster than upload.  What does that have to do with anything?  Well, perhaps the blessing of the internet has been modeled after the great blessings in the Christian life.

Think about prayer.  In prayer, there is the “upload” of our petitions to the throne of God and the “download” of God’s answers to our prayers.  Read Philippians 4:6-7 and 1 John 5:14-15.  Is not God’s “download” of answers to our prayers so much faster (and better) than our “upload.”

Think about giving.  In giving, there is the “upload” of our gifts to the Lord (and the good of His cause) and the “download” of God’s heap of blessings in response.  Read Luke 6:38 and 2 Corinthians 9:6.  Is not God’s “download” of blessings so much greater than our “upload”?
