Let's Go Back to the Bible

“How many loaves do you have?”

That’s an interesting question that Jesus asked His disciples.  In Mark 6, there were 5,000 men (plus women and children) who needed to eat.  Jesus asked His disciples, “How many loaves do you have?  Go and see” (6:38).  In Mark 8, there were 4,000 men (plus women and children) who were hungry.  Jesus asked His disciples, “How many loaves do you have?” (8:5).

Why is that an interesting question?  Think about their responses.  In Mark 6, they had five loaves.  In Mark 8, they had seven loaves.  What if they only had two or three loaves?  What if they could only find one loaf?  Would Jesus have said, “Oh, no!  That’s not enough!  If only you had a few more”?  You know He wouldn’t!  Whatever little they had was magnified in His hands.

What if Jesus asked you, “How many talents do you have?”  Do you think the actual response matters?  Does it matter if you are a one-talent or five-talent person?  No!  Jesus will take you, with whatever and however much you have, and use you for His glory!  Will you let Him?
