Let's Go Back to the Bible

SOME will not hear you, but OTHERS might

Arriving in Athens, Paul found a city “full of idols” (Acts 17:16). They worshiped everything under the sun, and probably even worshiped the sun, too. One would not expect to find fertile soil for the gospel here. And, truthfully, there wasn’t much. But Paul didn’t change his message to suit them–he still preached the pure gospel. “And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, ‘We will hear you again on this matter'” (17:32).

Did you see that? It says that SOME mocked. Not ALL. But after SOME mocked, there were OTHERS who showed some interest.

Today, there will be SOME who mock. It might feel like ALL, but it’s not. Instead of focusing on the SOME, look for the OTHERS who might be showing a little interest. Then, reach out to them. Give them a Bible tract. Send them a link to an article or sermon. Invite them to church. Who knows what a little planting and a little watering (with GOD’s help) will do!
