Let's Go Back to the Bible

Our New & Improved Website

Having a functioning web address is almost as expected today as a street address—having a functioning web site as expected as a physical site—a valid email address as a mailing address.  And, wow, were we ever reminded of that in the last two months!

The Palm Beach Lakes congregation has had a presence on the world wide web for 15 years.  (Buzz Nelson designed our very first website back then.)  And, in my humble opinion (I hesitate to say this, lest it come across brash), from the standpoint of content, I believe it has been one of the best to be found.  (Please understand that’s not to glorify PBL.  May all glory be to God!)  Consequently, since the day that the hacker got our site two months ago (on the “Perfect Day,” 10/10/10), we’ve been asked hundreds of times, “When is the site going to be back up?”

It was with great excitement that we launched our new and improved website on Sunday.  It looks great!  It is bright, crisp, inviting, easy-to-navigate and fun to explore.  During the entire design and build phase, I smiled every time I got another look at it.  Best of all, it is a tremendous tool to reach the lost.  Consider what it has to offer.

Great tools for Bible study compose more space on the site than anything else. There are hundreds and hundreds of sermons, including gospel meetings from years past.  One of our wealthiest sources of study is from our lectureships, and the site contains both the audio recordings and manuscripts of each lesson.  Quarters and quarters of Bible classes are there.  Thousands of articles from bulletins, Thought for the Day and a new section of Bible Questions and Answers.  And, all of that does not even touch the items on the Bible Study tab.

Great introductory materials to the church of Christ at PBL are also abundant on the site. The plea to restore first-century Christianity, what to expect when visiting, our weekly bulletins, the Youth Outreach newsletter and information about our elders, evangelists and mission works.  Great stuff!

Two individuals have worked exceptionally hard over the last two months to make this a reality.  How ironic that the son of the man who built our first site built and designed our new one!  Nate Nelson is very talented and gave us exactly what we asked of him!  Cindy Nelson poured her heart into the website in adding all of the content!  We’re so glad that they moved down here and are a part of PBL!

More and more content will be added weekly (and almost daily)!  Video will be coming soon.  Check back often!  Use it for personal Bible study!  Use it to teach others!
